    spalted pine vase

This piece of pine was given to me a year ago. I believe it was a branch, it was about 3 feet long and just sat in the corner until I got around to doing something with it. It is 5 1/2" tall 3 1/4" at it's widest 1/4" thick with 1 5/8" foot and 1/2" opening. I finished it with carnuba wax. The knot has somewhat of star burst look against the black of the spalting. Also, it was hollowed from the bottom then capped and I put a small bead to conceal the joint. Thanks for looking.

A very nice piece Ryan, I not given much thought to turning pine may have to rethink that. Great job.
