    Bloodwood workbench

It is finally done, the brass castings and all. The table is edge laminated 1 x 5īs and the legs and base are laminated 4 x 4īs. It weighs about 550 pounds.

The six drawers all have tops to keep them clean inside.

It's beautiful. I'll take a wild guess at 200 b.f. of bloodwood, or about $1,800 for the lumber alone (for those of us who don't own the mill).

That thing looks like it could take a serious beating for 200 years and still ask for more! Is bloodwood in Peru like oak and walnut up here in the States?

I can't even imagine how much that weighs! Beautiful bench...just stunning.

That sure did turn out great. At 550 pounds that is an anchor. I am assuming bloodwood is so common of a wood that it pays to use an exotic like that. That would be a very very expensive workbench here in the states. That is too pretty to use as a workbench.

A very stunning bench. Almost a shame to use it as a work bench. Beautiful work.

Nice bench!!! I'll bet you can't wait to slop glue on it, drill some holes in it and use it to weld on.

I agree. I'd be afraid of putting a little nick or something in it. Absolutely stunning
