    Question Dust Collector Hose

Is there any problem with using the flexible aluminum dryer vent hose in a dust collector system?

Depends on how powerful your DC is. My system would crush it flat in less than a second.

Also, the chips from the jointer and planer would wear away at the corners and eventually blow out that area... which is cool to watch (damhikt).

My 1 1/2HP delta has a 7" inlet and I hooked it up with a 5' section of the all aluminum flex they sell at HD. This is the stiff stuff, not super flexible. It went to a reducer to 6" and off to the tools. Worked fine for several years till I moved. It allowed me to move it around a bit when I needed to get behind the DC.

    Wink Same here.

I have mine running all over my shop and havent had any problems yet. It easy, flexible and cost a lot less than other stuff.

The other issue is how it impacts your air flow. Rigid piping will give you more power on your system and better airflow.
