  2. I did my duty in the Army, discharged as an E-5, Vietnam 67-68 9th Infantry. It totally helped me become disciplined, I am now a retired Fire Captain living in Maine, make a lot of pens, just now becoming involved in this Freedom Pen Project.

Very generous of you Waymon, it looks like your goal of $1000 was reached rather quickly and I am sure your Dad would have appreciated your efforts.

I'll post anyway so you will know there are still more woodworker vets still out here!

USArmy Corp of Engineers 59-67, been there and done that too!

I might have Jim beat now, from the time back in 2004 when this was posted and I posted my original message..
USA 1969-72, Vietnam-Cobra gunships out of Pleiku, Guard 72-75, Active Reserves 76-84 while flying in Africa. Active Guard 85 to present flying C-12 airplanes. If I make it to April 2009, my new MRD at 62, that will make 40yrs active and reserve. (We must be short of pilots if they are letting us 60yr olds make tactical night approaches into Bagdad.)

now based in the Middle East and anxiously awaiting the delivery of the Freedom Pens. Thanks Keith and Jackie
