GCC Mercury with ethernet print server?

I have had a very hard time finding a computer with a standard LPT-port to use with my GCC Mercury laser engraver. So far I have tried using a simple USB->Parallel adaptor, but it seems the signal is distorded during transmitting the lasing job.

Anyone here have experience using a ethernet->parallel print server, e.g. from D-Link ?

    Best regards
    Peter

My GCC Mercury won't accept input from a print queue file at all- I have to set print to 'send directly'. Whether that's my particular setup or machine (oldish) I don't know, but I strongly suspect that a network print setup wouldn't work for me for that reason. Your mileage may vary.

If you're using a tower system, have a google for "LPT port card"...cheaper and would work. For laptops, you could try "pcmcia LPT port card", but it's a fairly fugly solution and pretty expensive (not much change from $100).
