    That's a truly stunning piece Frank - I bet you kept your little pinkies away from the edge of that spinning, and yes its well named.

    Thanks again everyone, It's one of the best pieces I've ever done. A while back I went to my wood guys place to get 24" walnut logs he said I could have, when I got there he pointed to a couple 3' logs that were half burl and asked if I wanted them, it dosen't take any imagination to know what I said. Two hours later they were slabbed and on the way to my house. I knew I wanted to do a winged bowl so I picked the best cap on the log to cut for it. This is the second one I've done. The first I did about a year ago. When I finished it I swear it was giving me the bird, here's some photos to see what I mean. It's also Black walnut burl. This one was a Christmas gift to my sister in law.

    It takes a true artist to turn a "lowly" piece of wood into something so lovely. The wood is gorgeous. Nice!!
