Civil War Canteen

Hi All,
I have been looking for information, details or plans for an authentic design Civil War wood canteen, one catered more toward the Confederate Army. Haven't had much luck so far. This would be for living history events, so I am looking for, as stated earlier, something that is really close to an original design.
Thanks for any thoughts shared.

The Confederate ones on that page look like little wood barrels. The designs look straightforward. The construction may be a little challenging if you're not used to building barrels.

St. Roy makes a civil war canteen in season 13. Worth checking out.

Steve, it shouldn't be too difficult to work out a plan for a decent replica from some basic dimensions. I didn't spend much time on this drawing but I based it on what I could glean from the dimensions show in photos on the site Jamie linked to. It could be made more accurate with a few more dimensions.

Paul, that's an American Revolutionary War canteen. A little different, but similar.
