help with powermatic 2000 riving knife

I use a thin kerf blade with my 2000. The wood is difficult to send through the saw when using the riving knife that came with it. Is there a thin kerf riving knife available for the 2000 and where do I get it?

Thanks. I see you posted 2 knives. What is the difference and which do you recommend?

From the description, the low profile knife is probably the one setup for through cuts and the other one accommodates the guard attachment.

That would be correct.

But, I've gotta ask - why thin kerf on a cabinet saw? I have the 5HP version and more than enough power to run full kerf. From my experience I'd say the 3HP version would have enough as well.

Well, if one "has" a thin kerf blade or three from a previous saw, they might want to continue using it. That said, I do agree that a full kerf blade is often the better choice for a 3hp cabinet saw.

Thanks for the info. I have 2 WWII thin kerf blades that my father-in-law gave me. I have been learning woodworking from him for about 7 years. He makes high-end furniture as a hobby, and I am aspiring to do the same. I finally got tired of using his shop and working around his schedule. His shop is small and can handle one project at a time. I converted my entire 2 1/2 detached garage into a shop about a year ago. I put in the following: PM 2000, Powermatic 60B, Powermatic 15 planer, hand me down drill press, used Performax 22-44 drum sander, Delta dust collection, air cleaner, 16 in. Jet bandsaw, and a variety of routers and hand tools. It has been a wonderful journey and it brings many happy hours. I teach elementary school and have many summer days in the shop. I'm loving it!
