    Laser Tech video

There's apparently some tech tv show that doesn't make it in my area, but there did a 30 minute segment with the folks from Universal with a Versalaser and it's online. The guy doing the speaking about it is the great Dave Stevens from Universal. He's their applications guy and he's one of the sharpest people out there when it comes to doing things with lasers and making it happen.

Even if you have no interest in a Versalaser, this video is well worth watching for it's technical information about lasers. Don't miss the very end of the clip with the very simply spiral in wood. Neat idea and got my wheels turning on something so simple.

    It's about a 30 minute video clip

Revision3 is a podcast network, System is a show on that network. Thats why you dont find it on TV.

Anyway, this is a great video. I remember this (referring to the video linked below) came out about a month after i got really interested in lasers and was thinking about getting one. I was shocked and it was what really inspired me to just get ready and start thinking about the business.

Here is the first video in which it appeared, less technical, but still entertaining for me:

Dave Randolph (the host) has since left rev3.

Huh...as hard-core geeky as this crew seems to be, and they just got around to trying a Versalaser this spring?!? That just ain't right.

Back on techTV, which some of these people were on (Louderback - CEO of rev3, Patrick Norton - Co-host of systm + more), Leo Laporte (some of you may hear him on the weekend radio) did a segment on it. More of a short demo/ad, but it was still done.

I thought I remembered seeing that one, just couldn't remember where. It's from late '04, maybe earlier: found it when I was shopping for my machine in early '05.

Hey Steve/Scott and Matt - Thanks for those links, very entertaining and informational. And that spiral at the end was very neat! did they say they tried some meat in there? I thought WE were bad trying anything and everything.

    cheers, dee
