Apple gets a Day of fresh air

I had to see how the Apple was doing. It's been in the oil bath for over a day so I thought she might like some fresh air. I will let it drip today and them it's back in the tank.
So far it looks cool to me

It's got some great looking color Gary! Should be something to see once it is finished!

I know that if this is just left out to air dry it will fall apart.
The big bark inclusion and the cracked pith it does not stand a chance.
Oil and water do not mix.
So lets see what happens when the wood sits in oil----this is a blend of everything from Danish oil to BLO.
I have done this twice so far and had good results. But both of those where in a lot better shape than this piece.
This is not something I just dreamed up----Ron Kent does something like this when he works with NIP.
