tool racks

The thread about the tool racks got me thinking about making one for my new lathe -- I like the idea of using PVC pipe as the holder for each tool.


Are there any designs floating around -- a round one looks like a great design.


For those that have used pipe what works best? Thanks

I took Forstner bits and drill a partial hole in a 1 X 4 and glued in PVC pipe with the top cut at a angle. I have it mounted on the wall next to my lathe. It is about 5 ft long with all my gouges in it.

This one is on a lazy susan bearing....I will soon make a new
one as I have outgrown this one...works well for me

Bernie -- Drilling the hole for the pipe is a great idea.

I want to build a wall cabinet to hold some of the lathe equipment -- but would like to have a cart of some type to hold tools close to the lathe.

Thought I would put the holder on top.

Ron I like the idea of yours - it holds a lot in a small space.
