Cabinet to house the kitty litter box...

Yes, that is right, I'm looking to build a simple cabinet to house the kitty litter box. Reason - a son that will be crawling around and I don't want him to get a tootsie roll from the kitty. YUCK!!

I've got a basic idea of what to build, but want to run this by everyone to see if there is something out there.

Well I've never built a kitty outhouse but I have built a cat house and can tell you that an 8" opening is plenty. One thing I'd do is line the interior with something manmade that's water (urine) proof so it doesn't soak into the wood and become permanently stinky. Even the best cats sometimes hang their hindquarters over the edge of the litter box. And I think you'd need enough room for the litter box as well as space outside the box so they can stand while trying to bury things.
