    Tinting Penofin

I want to use clear Penofin on my cypress Adirondack chairs but it turns my sample piece very yellow. i want to tint it slightly but there's no information on the can about tinting this oil finish. So my question to this learned forum is can this finish be tinted and what type of stain do I use?

Change is inevitable except from vending machines.

I am pretty sure that Penofin is an oil based finish in a mineral spirits thinner. If that is the case, you should be able to tint it easily.

I would try Transtint brand liquid dye (available in WW specialty shops or on the Net in a variety of colors). Be fastidious in recording your measuring and do small batches, experiment on some scrap until you get the color that you want.
