    A couple of new bowls

Here's a couple more I turned last month. 1st one is wormy butternut, 6” wide, 1 ½” tall. 2nd one is mimosa, finished with walnut oil,
7 ¼ x 2 ½”. I've been dating people by the image they see on the inside of the mimosa bowl. Comments and criticism welcome -

Cathy, I like both, but I have a real affection for wormy butternut!! I have done a couple of butternut, and still have a couple of pieces left.

The image I see in the mimosa bowl is a cell dividing. How old does that make me????

And, I hope your hubby doesn't mind you "dating" all those guys!!

    Nice work, Cathy.

I see the mitosis angle that John is talking about. It also reminds me a bit of a character on the Monster, Inc movie... I have a four year old so I get to see a fair bit of the animated stuff today.

Well...call me the dirty old man. I'm seeing breasts. Seriously though, nice work on both bowls.

As soon as I read and tried to interpret "..I've been dating people by the image they see.." I knew that things would be going down hill. All work and no play can dull a turners' tools.

Hmmm....I see a volcano, in a dimly lit moonlight sky....maybe something out of the Cambrian Era.....so what's that make me?

    I know....A Fossil

    Nice bowls.

Ok, so my phrasing could have been better. Kind of like carbon dating. Hmph.

Personally, I see a star wars storm trooper. One of my co-workers sees ET. Another (female, I might add) sees what Richard saw. Someone else said they saw two spots. Now there's some imagination ...

Looks like a gogglefish to me - but I don't need a date.
