Extension table design help needed

I am trying to replicate the design of Stickley's 89-0713-46-3LVS Round Pedestal Dining Table. The pedestal base on this table splits when the leaves are addded. Unfortunately, I am having trouble finding an example of how each half of the base is securely fastened to the top. Any help would be appreciated.

You might check out two books by Robert Lang. They're called Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture, and More Shop Drawings for Craftsman Furniture. He doesn't have drawings for that specific piece, but does have related pieces. There's also an informative book called Stickley Craftsman Furniture Catalogs, published by Dover. It is a reprint of a catalog from Gustav Stickley, and one from his brothers at the L&G Stickley Company.
