Does anyone have the Powermatic PJ882 Mobile Base?

I'm thinking of making one and would like to know what size of rectancular steel they use in the thing. From the pictures it looks like 1" x 2" but I can't be sure. Figured maybe someone on here might have one and could do a quick check for me.

    Thanks !

I would suggest buying the Rockler Universal Mobile Base and instead of using lumber for the support pieces, use some 1.5" x 1.5" steel box tubing from Home Depot. This is much cheaper than buying a custom mobile base.

Hi Paul - thanks for the reply. That's an option I had not thought of. However, I am in a "welding mood" lately having come into a free welding unit from a buddy of mine and I wanted to try my hand at welding something myself. (I've practiced for all of about 1 hour so far on some scrap pieces ). If I make a mess of it though, your suggestion will be the back-up plan.

    Cheers,
    Lewis
