Just wondering where woodworkers in Cincinnati get their hardwood lumber. Know the Amish must have mills just east of town in Brown or Adams county somewhere. Morehead Ky is not too far of a drive. We now have the new Hardwood store in Milford.

White Lumber in Morehead is reasonable and usually has a pretty good selection. You may want to email them -

I have bought from Frank Paxton Woodcrafters Store. The store is near Kenwood mall. http://www.paxtonwood.com/cincinnati.html
Also there is a hardwood dealer near Wilmington. I am not sure what you consider to far to drive.
What is the hardwood store in Milford?
Frank Miller just accross in IN
Muterspaw in Xenia is hard to beat

Paxton did away with the retail woodcrafters store. They only sell wholesale now. The guys that worked in the retail store started their own store in the old Thriftway store on Highway 28 in Milford. It's called Hardwood Lumber and More. They have a web site with the same name. They are also a Rockler store.
I am in Wilmington often. Where is that dealer? What are the prices like? I would like to find a mill where I could get a good price and buy a pick up load at a time.

Lately I have been getting it at American Wood Source in Lebanon, OH. Very good.

Dave:
I guess I was thinking of Muterspaw, they are about 5 miles from I 71 towards Xenia. You can check prices on their web site.
I had not heard that Paxton shut down the retail store. I have not been there for several months. After they stopped selling exotics there was not as much incentive for me to make the drive.
Have you tried Willis Lumber in Washington Court House ?
Mike
I get most of my wood from Wilhelm Lumber in St Leon, IN. Just about 10 minutes out 74 west past Harrison. Reasonable prices and a nice selection.

It looks like they will sell whatever you want or need.
