    Question about leather substitute

I have a design I would like to cut on my laser. Current prototype is in leather with some very nice hand polished / smoothed edges. I was wondering if there is any leather substitute that will have a nice edge finish when cut on the laser, and also offer roughly the same pliability, thickness and feel. New to fabrics and such things, so any recommendations would be apreciated!

I have only been able to get a nice edge from real leather. You have some large saddle makers in your area. Check with them about scrap leather. You might be suprised at how easy it is to come by.

Would you share your design that you want to put on leather pls. I have some old scraps and want to laser something on them. What thickness of leather do you think you need to use?

    Thanks, Pete
