    engraving software comparison question

Engravelab came with a used laser that I just purchased for a backup laser because the price was to good to pass up. We currently use corel x3. My question is: how do both compare and should we just stick to corel and not try to learn the engravelab? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

    Dave,

You might start here http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthre...gravelab+corel for some thoughts on this while you are waiting for replies.

I have both including version 7 of Engravlab expert as well as Corel X3.

I was forced to buy the Engravlab ($1600) for a Newing Hall engraver. I thought it would be easy to learn--it's just a drawing program, right?

Well, it's not easy to learn and for running a laser I can't imagine how you could do better than Corel. I've been using Corel for 9 years, I'm still learning but it's a great program.
