Here are pictures of my first face turning, a maple bowl that's 7 1/2" dia and 2 5/8" high. It was a little taller before it went flying
when I had it mounted in jumbo jaws to turn the tenon off the bottom. Luckily, enough was left that I was able to re-chuck it and turn the lip down a bit to clean up the slight damage. It was sanded to 2000 grit, oil varnish rubbed in to bring out the grain, and then sprayed with Deft lacquer and waxed.
