Can I spray finish with ...

... my compressor? It is a 30 gallon Husky, 1.5 hp, 6 cfm at 40 psi.

If so what type of gun would you recommend?

I have some built in linen cabinets that I am working on and want to get a nice smooth and durable white finish on the doors.

I am a beginner home remodeler/woodworker who recently found SMC and have quickly been realizing how little I know. This site has opened my eyes and I am humbled by the knowledge and talent I have found here.

    Thanks for your help. Chris

Yes, you can as long as the gun you buy will operate well with the specs of your compressor. When I bought my first Wagner HVLP Conversion Gun, I ran it off a similar compressor, although it was only 20 gallon. Ran all the time, but sprayed my kitchen cabinets just fine. Now I will say that it's a lot more pleasurable working with my larger 60 gallon compressor now, but that's because it runs less and is in a sound conditioned closet with my cyclone.
