Nice work Mike, I really like the leg detail.
Your poker table is a beauty too!

Very nice work, Mike! What is the thickness of the top?

Looks like your father has a peculiar taste in toys.... :>

thanks, the table in the pic was just dry fitted in my basement. I shipped the table broken down to my dad in jersey and glued it up there. the toys are my daughters. as far as the thickess on the top it is a little thicker than 3/4".

    coincidence

I JUST downloaded the WOOD plans for this table. Any tips before I start? I was thinking to do the whole thing (incl the top) in cherry.

Also, I was thinking to biscuit the joints instead of mortise and tenons. I'm handy at tenon-making. But mortises leave me scared...

    Thanks everyone.

    Shawn,

I did not use mortise and tennon but the dowel max to make the joints. The plans are very accurate. the call for the legs to be 28" but I cut that down to 24" for where it needed to go.

    Mike-
Dumb question: I'm a little new to bandsawing. How did you cut the tapers on the legs?

I actual drew it out on poster board then put it on plywood to make a template. Since the taper is very mild I just used my hand as a guide to cut close to the line then sanded it down. I then rough cut out the leg blanks and then used the template taped down on the blanks and used a straight bit on the router table to follow the template.

    That's what I'll do. Thanks.
