Question Floating sideboard - how attached??

Well, my big mouth got me in trouble again with SWMBO. She saw a sideboard at a local merchant and asked me if I could make one. Naturally, being male and thinking I can justify another tool of some type, I replied "Of course".

This particular sideboard (similar to a dry sink) is fairly plain vanilla EXCEPT for the sliding board. Looking at the face of the unit, there is a board about 3 inches below the top that slides out to act as an additional surface to place serving plates, etc. When the board is fully extended it appears to be about 2 inches less wide and 2 inches less deep than the carcase it extends from. There's no visible hardware.

How on earth is this attached? If I can find a link, I'll post a picture but haven't found one so far.

    Any input would be appreciated.

It may be supported with drawer slides like the Blum Tandem. There is no visible hardware when the drawer is open -- unless you look underneath.
