Question Arts and Crafts muntin doors

I am trying to figure out how to finish the back (inside) of the sides and doors of a china hutch I am building. The sides/doors are divided lights with a vertical muntin and two horizontal muntins. I have the half laps done and the muntins in place. However, I am trying to figure out how to design the glass stops and stay within the mission style.

    I see the following options:
    1. Invidual mitered stops for each light.
    2. Squaring off the ends and butting the joints
    3. Half lapping and running the vertical stops from top to bottom and then filling in the horizontal pieces.

I am concerned that the miters would detract from the overal square joints of the piece.

Does anyone know the proceedure used on Sticley pieces? I really don't want to glaze the joints.

    Thanks, Dan

    From 1910, try - http://www.gutenberg.org/files/23991...R_CHINA_CLOSET
or, if link will not work try -
    www.gutenberg.org and search for:
    Title: Mission Furniture
How to Make It, Part 2 -
    Author: H. H. Windsor
    eBook #23991
    Project: ANOTHER CHINA CLOSET

"The frames should be rabbeted on the inside for the latticework and the glass." Not a lot of detail, but authentic and may be helpful.

Also, see Robert Lang's book "Shop Drawing for Craftsman Interiors." He has good detail drawings, and I'm sure they would be helpful.
