    Smile "Weekend Doin's"

    Friday October 17th, 2008

    GOOD MORNING "CREEKERS"!

It's been a pretty good week. Had some rain Wednesday and now it's cooler. The leaves are just past peak in this area, but still pretty. I guess it won't be long before that white stuff starts flying. I'm going to have to get the snow thrower mounted on the JD pretty soon me thinks.

We celebrated my Mom's 86th B-day Wednesday. We took her on a nice drive to the Mississippi river and spent the day at a riverboat casino. We had rain on the way and clear weather on the way home. It was a good day and mom enjoyed herself.

I've got a few more things to accomplish in preperation of the winter, so I'll be trying to get those taken care of. I'll also be hauling up our winter clothes from the basement. If time permits maybe I'll get a chance to work in the shop.

So what's up in your neck of the woods? Fun, games, work or ?????

I hope your weekend is a good one. Please be SAFE!

Horsie activities on Saturday and perhaps some shop time if I'm lucky. Sunday, some errands and then some prep for a customer meeting I have on Monday. Not a whole lot of excitement. Oh, and staying warm...temps start to dip. I may have to think about turning on the heat.

If I"m lucky.....football between runs to the shop. I have 2 small turning projects to complete.

My new photo tent and lights showed up yesterday before I had to go a hospital and work early yesterday evening. So I hope to play with that this weekend too.

Saturday it's Gideon prayer breakfast at 7am.; football - Nebraska vs. Iowa State at 11:30 am.; church at 5:30 pm.
Sunday it's duck hunting - up at 3;00 am - season opens Saturday

Ordered my tenon jig from Grizzlly last Wed. - arrived Mon. (super service).

Goal is to fit a little duck hunting, a football game here and there, and get started on plantation shutters in next few weeks, plus satisfy the household on projects that come up (sure everyone knows what I mean).

    A nice weekend to everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I have some Geocaching business to deal with, setting out some new caches for my Scout Troop.

Hopefully I'll be seeing Mizou spank the Longhorns and the Tide wash away the Rebels.

    my weekend

Saturday, if it stops raining, we are going to the Apple Festival in the north Ga mountains then over to Burt's Pumpkin Patch to pick out some huge pumpkins for my daughter. Sunday I will be in the shop working on a cherry end table and playing with my new SC mortiser that got here yesterday. Then later in the day I have to start writing a research paper.

Big doings at the radiostation with the pledge drive. It's actually a lot of fun.
A lot of people in town, with teachers meetings. Many of the kids are off from school.
We're at the tail end of leaf seson but it is still wonderful to be bumping around in the woods.
Going to squeaze in some shop time.

    Be safe.

Lazy day today, always a good thing. Tomorrow I work, but afterward I hope to get a little sanding in on my little 1-sheeter canoe. If I am lucky I will be able to finish it. Sunday will be another lazy day. A good weekend. Midterms are over and a lot is off my back.

Busy weekend getting ready for a Saturday night party here at the house. We have 17 couples coming over. Most are friends that we got to Jamaica with each year and a few that want to go. We have 6 couples staying over plus any that aren't fit to travel. So I don't think I'll have any shop time. Next weekend it's off to my neighbors hunting cabin to do some work. It's getting to the point I may not get the shop insulated and osb on the walls before winter.

Will do John. And be sure to tell him everyone here at SMC thank him and his fellow soldiers for their service!!
After we get breakfast and feed the dogs, we're on a mission to find some tile for the "Pink Room" that we like, looks good with the possibles on the paint scheme, and that we can afford...not necessarily in that order. Once we find the right tile, we will finalize our paint and get it. Hopefully I can get a coat on the walls and ceilings. If I get that far tomorrow, then I'll be able to paint the crown molding on Sunday. We'll see if that happens or not.
Would like to see an upset at the Baylor/OSU game. Doubt that it will happen, but stranger things have happened in football this year. Wonder who my parents will root for, OSU (both went there when it was called Oklahoma A&M) or Baylor, where they sent a lot of money to for my tuition for 3 years???
Have a great and safe weekend!! Jim.
