    weekend front porch swing

Here is a little project that my wife has been requesting for a while. I spent a few hours in the garage this weekend, and came up with this. Obviously, it isn't in the same category when it comes to some of the things that you guys are putting out...I really just wanted to show off my best two shop helpers!

Matt, it doesn't get any better than that. No matter how beautiful the projects are on this site they could never match a precious smile like that.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Matt,

That is a great looking swing and a good weekend accomplishment. It ought to gain some consideration for additional tools to do other projects for your helper.

Matt....I'd say you posted two great projects! Though the one with the smile is a more precious in my eyes! Nice swing by the way!

Nice swing and nice "swing crew", Matt.

Tom.. true about what you say about a child that young playing on a swing above ground but from what I see Matt has the swing still sitting in his shop on the floor at this point if I am not mistaken.

Anyway... nice swing and nice "swing crew" or have I already said that somewhre?

    Nice swing

Nice swing Matt. Did you work from plans? If you did will you share where you got them? Thanks, Paul

    Paul,

I didn't have any real plans to work from. My mother is a scrounger, and happened to find the original that someone was throwing away. It had some rot issues, so I scavenged the hardware and just used it as a pattern to build my own. I made a few of my own modifications as well...made the arm rests wider, added the cup holders, etc.
