Should be interesting. I've some of Lee Valley's offerings, and they are indeed well-made and perform well. That said, most of my work-a-day planes are Lie-Nielsen, because I just don't care for the looks of the Lee-Valley bench planes. I like the company and buy things from them fairly often, so I'd welcome a more traditional design with more aesthetic appeal (at least to those of us curmudgeons that think they already know what a plane "should" look like ).

Wll, I think Rob gave us a good clue. Look at the Lee Valley ad at the top of the page. 24 NOVEMBER 2008 with a new veritas V logo. Rob, you are an evil, evil man. You will single handedly be responsible for folks not showing up to work all across the country on that date. And we still give you business. Talk about loyalty

I had to turn the ads on to see this:

My guess is that we will learn something soon. Perhaps Very Very Veritas.

I dunno what is coming down the pike, but I am asking for a LV skew rabbet plane for Christmas.

I might be able to sneak in a small plow plane too if I am really really good. I guess that means I need to finish that hall table I've been promising...

Save extra pennies. You will want to spend them. This I promise! (wink ... wink)

Darn, being a contributor and having automatic log-in, I do not get the ads.

Guess I will just have to wait.

If it's any comfort to you guys, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Leonard Lee recently and if I can believe him, he does not know anything about the new planes coming either. Said that was Robin's thing and he was not in the loop.

    Thanks Glenn,
Only took me two times trying. The second time it actually occurred to me to save the changes.

Something that occurs to me after noting the copy of the ad posted by John - Why would one pick Thanksgiving week for a major announcement - to get all the wives a chance to get an order in for Christmas shopping? Based on Chris Schwarz' blog about Wives Against Schwarz, I kinda doubt that was too strategic a decision.
