How can I make new cypress look old?
Throw it back in the swamp for a few decades.... You may want to call a local cypress mill, I've used Acadian Cypress in Ponchatoula before and they are pretty knowledgable about their products.
Thanks Jeremy. I have never used Ponchatoula Cypress. I get mine from a local bandsaw mill in Gardner, LA. I am experimenting with some oil stains.
Puritin Pine looks pretty good. I will try that and see how it looks.

I would be very interested in how stain works out.
I have a hard time getting poly to dry on aged cypress.
it seems that the wood will not absorb anything.
wondered if that included stain.
