    Finish for a gun stock

I'm going to refinish a gun stock and I was wondering what type of finish to use?

The standard finish (if there is such a thing) is Tru Oil. It comes in a small plastic bottle. Don't recall the price but it is available in the sporting goods section at wally world and many sporting goods stores. I just use a rag and wipe it on - may take more coats depending on the look you want

I finished a custom gunstock a few years ago with Waterlox. I used a method posted by a fellow named Jack Crawford. His sight is closed down now but if you'd like I'd be happy to send you a copy of his method of finishing stocks. Drop me a PM with your address and I'll send you a copy.

Tru Oil, Woodcraft carries it. Leaves a very nice finish.
