    Sketchup pro 7 thoughts

Hi guys ,Just wondering about the thoughts woodworkers have on SU 7.Is it worth the money? Ive been trying the free version and like it.Went on Gary Katz's web page and it looked alot easier than the free version.Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

I have too downloaded the free trial to use for ww'ing.
I couldnt use it very well since I use parametric modeling 3D software at work too much of a difference and was too frustrating to use.
It is alot of fun and easy to use my dad enjoys using it for conceptualizing in architectural projects.

Greg, the free version is all you need unless
    a) you want to create dynamic components (not everyone will want to)
    b) you want to use Layout for making presentations or plan sets
    c) you want to create styles
    d) a few other bits and bobs.
It is identical in use for all other operations. I'm not sure how you would get the impression that the pro version is easier to use.
SU 7 is available in both the free and pro (~$500) versions. The pro version has an 8hr trial but I wouldn't bother with it unless you're familiar with the free version and feel the need to test out the extra capabilities.
Smile. It worries the other guy.

I own the Pro version since version 4. (I think that's where I started) That was pre-Google. For most woodworkers, the free version will be the best choice. The Pro version should only be in your sights if you actually need the few additional features and output options.
