Natural Finsh on Oak, not happy

I built an entertainment center for my father inlaw and I put a coat of Watco danish oil on it (natural) and my wife is not happy w/ the color, she wants a little darker tint to it. does anyone have any suggestions to how I could alter the finish so that it looks a little dark and maybe not so red?

    Thanks

If you only did 1 coat of Watco, then a few more coats with one of their tinted "danish oils" may get you to the color you want. Remember Watco is an "in-the-wood" finish, you can't build a film with it.

Finishing is an 'Art & a Science'. Actually, it is a process. You must understand the properties and tendencies of the finish you are using. You must know the proper steps and techniques, then you must execute them properly.
