Salad bowl finish is an oil/varnish and Danish Oil is an oil/varnish. "Salad Bowl Finish" and "Danish Oil" are just marketing names for the same combination of ingredients.

In other words, the two are almost identical so you can intermix them, but why would you?

I wanted to use the Danish oil for color, followed by the salad bowl finish for the Carving fork to make it food safe.

When either finish has fully cured--say a month, both are equally food safe anyway. Salad bowl finish is about marketing not about additional safety.
