Milk Paint over oil based primer

Have some old "Mexican chairs" that are probably pine. My wife wanted to paint them in various colors and primed them with an oil based primer some time ago. Now she is thinking milk paint would have been nice. Milk paint doesn't need a primer right? Could this work, or is it a bad idea to put milk paint over an oil based primer?

Overall, if you look at these pics (minus the artwork), what kind of paint do you think would get these kind of results? Kind of a flat finish, uneven... thanks in advanced.

Milk paint should not be used over a primer, but only on bare wood. If it must go over a primed surface, it must have an acyrlic additive that makes it essentially an acyrlic paint. You might as well use an enamel paint formulated as an enamel from the get-go.

You can get the milk paint colors it just about any line of quality enamel--Sherwin Williams Pro Classic is well thought of, in either acyrlic or oil based.
