A Little More Lathe Time.

Good Day to the turners side of the Creek.

As my cradle project is done now I've been able to spend a bit more time on my little lathe.
You guessed it more stoppers.

A fellow that owns a wine store asked if I could make a couple
that looked like wine glasses.
Would of been nice to have the stems a bit thinner but the mandrel
I have is 3/8".
Figured I would use the lathe to make a holder for the stoppers.
Next one will be a tad smaller in diameter.

After making this base I'm getting closer to making an actual bowl....

Hope everyone had a little shop time this weekend.

Gary - glad to see you turning! Great looking stoppers! Really like the wine glass idea! What kind of wood did you use for them? Very nice rich color to it!

Thanks Steve.

These stoppers are from a nice piece of QS. Bubinga
got a while back. Come to think of it in this round world
it really doesn't matter.
Cut a couple of feet off it and made a bunch of cubes that will become stoppers.

Cool stoppers Gary. I like the stems just as they are. If they were much thinner they would appear to be fragile to some customers.
