Hello George,
I use the sliding dovetail plane quite frequently to do tapered sliding dovetails and it works well. The only problem is that you will have to modify the nicker. I modified mine by rounding it slightly and then sharpening it. I did get my dovetail plane from Lee Valley tools. So far as using their moving fillister plane, I think it would work if you attached an angled fence to the existing fence. Hope this helps, Frank |

The problem with using a fillister plane for a dovetail is the angle between the side and the sole.
