Looking for spindle bed plans/ideas

My daughter wants me to make her a bed in this style: http://shakerstyle.com/img/beds/spindleSilo.jpg
The features she likes are the thin spindles and the curved rails.

(We have several pieces of furniture from Shaker Style and they are an excellent company to deal with BTW)

My main question about building something like this is the curved rails. Are they bent or cut from a wider board? If they are bent, how do you cut the spindle holes so they are all parallel? If it is cut from a wider board, then I can see how to make the holes.

If anyone knows of a source for a plan/model/magazine article of a spindle bed that I could use for inspiration, please let me know.
