First set of pens

Hello All,

Is has been four or five months now since taking delivery of my lathe, however, I have not had a great deal of time to devote to it. My flat work pays the bills and the wife says that comes first.

I have always had an aversion about throwing wood away, no matter how small, so when I began playing, err, working with my lathe, I got this great idea of making pens from all the little pieces that have accumulated over the years, as gifts for family and friends. There is one problem, now I end up sawing too many of my boards up for pens.

Hope the pictures turn out ok, they never look good to me when the resolution is so restricted.

The two images are all that I have turned to date, from 1 to 20. If any one is interested in additional information, I will gladly provide or answer questions.

Some of them are finished with pre-cat lacquer and the others are CA.

Comments welcome, good or bad.

Bear

Very nice work, Ted. Pens look great. I like the two Patriots in the center. That wood looks good. Also like the pen with the contrasting wood.
