Any comments on Grizzly G0513X2B Band Saw?

I am looking at the Grizzly G0513X2B and the G0514X Band Saw as a Christmas gift to myself. Any comments would be appreciated before I decide to buy! Thanks

I had a 514x and thought it was a good saw and would buy it again.

I have the G0513x2 and am happy with it. The only difference is the brake.

I'll add my vote for the 513x2. Terrific saw. In fact, it's one of the nicest band saws that I've had the pleasure of using! It has some really nice features.

What they said! I've had the 513X for several years, and love it.

+1 G0513X. It does take some time to wind down but I only find that an issue if I am wanting to back out of a cut. I know we all follow the safety guidelines and never back out of a cut while the saw is running, right? I do this so seldom it is not an issue for me. If I used the saw for lots of start-stop curvy stuff, a brake would be great.

All that being said; an extra pony and a deeper throat on the 514? Hmmm.

I have the 514x2 and like it - I would buy it again. I have not done any re-sawing as yet but it has cut everything I have thrown at it without hesitation.

I have to say the wheels are pretty massive - it takes a good long time to spin down and the foot brake takes a good stomp to stop the blade.

I'm yet another proud and happy owner of a G0513X2. I've done some serious resawing on that machine and it handles it with no struggle whatsoever. I also the like the "Bear Head" wheels.

I have the 0513xb2, and really like it a lot. I like the brake feature - it's quick and effortless, and for me was worth the extra bucks.

Everything about the saw works well. It is very accurate resawing, has good power, a good guide system - all in all I am pleased with it.

You can't get carbide tipped bands (my preferred band) directly from Grizzly for it, but there are other suppliers that can make one for you.

513X2 guy here. I love it. Not only does it work great, but it brings a smile to my face when I see it in my garage. Guess I have a problem...

Anyway, this is great machine, however if you need a brake, get one.
