my new (used) jet jbm-5 mortiser

I just bought this today. I cut a few mortises with it already. I posted a picture of my very first mortise. It really works great. It had only been used once and 2 of the chisels were still wrapped up. The guy let me have it for $140. Well worth the money.

Thanks to those who posted to tell me how much they liked it.

Way to go, Keith! $140

One thing that I did to improve the performance of my machine was to add a vacuum nozzle directed at the open side of the mortising chisel. This clears chips so that you can see what you are doing, and prevents clogs and backups in the chisel that can cause overheating.

I was thinking the same exact thing as I used it for the first time. I like the way you did yours.
