Very Big News !!!

Penn State Industries contacted me late this afternoon to let me know that they are shipping over 44,000 new Special Edition catalogs, that they send to schools all across the country, tomorrow and have included River Bend Middle School photos and information about our Freedom Pen Project...we even made the front page of the catalog.

PSI has also confirmed that they are now an official Sponsor and will be talking to Ken Salisbury to establish a means of providing materials and supplies for the FPP. Obviously we are elated to have another major Woodworking company join us in our effort to support our troops.

You can visit their web site at;

http://www.pennstateind.com/

PSI also has a web site dedicated to serving the educational system at the following address;

http://www.psischools.com

To Contact PSI or if you would like to say thanks and welcome them to the FP Project please send them an email message;

pam@pennstateind.com

We should all thank Dave Bonde and Ken Salisbury for contacting PSI and inviting them to join us

Scroll down to view the Cover Page and the printed story inside the catalog.

E-gads! That's *way* cool! I've gotten a few items from PSI, but never tried their pen kits. Regardless, it's mighty super of them to jump on in and give a hand with the cause!

I've already said it in an earlier post but it bears repeating . . . we might want to start sharpening up our turning tools!!! This program is starting to grow exponentially and we are about to explode!!! I'm not sure that any of us REALLY knows what it is developing into!!

Cool, huh!!

PSI . . . . THANK YOU !!!!

Jerry

I will be contacting PSI directly today to thank them for their support and to discuss how PSI can help with supplying kits and other supplies. I will let everyone know what arrangements I make with them.

PSI Catalog FPP Pictures

Here are the pictures that I scanned from the new PSI catalog. The first picture is the catalog cover, the second picture is from page 4, an area they call the "School Activity Corner".

That's pretty cool, Keith! Kudo's to PSI!!! I would think that would certainly initiate some additional interest and response in the project.

Keith,

That is great advertising for the project.

I hope Ken has good luck with them donating or giving us discounts or whatever they can do for this project. I am sure there are quite a few of us here that have purchased equipment and supplies from PSI just due to this project. I know I have.

Spectacular...just spectacular. I love seeing the kids having a good time. I am sure they are feeling very special about contributing to such a cause. Outstanding!

What a promo for the project. and if this generates even 0.1% responce from the catalogues. that would be 44 schools starting projects something like Riverbend. I can't recall Riverbends latest number of pens. but this would result in something in the neighborhood of 6-7000 pens!!!
