FPP Demo at Patrick Henry Mall

I just got off the phone with the Marketing Director from Patrick Henry Mall in Newport News Viginia. I had contacted the mall to schedule a Freedom Pen turning demonstration and as luck would have it on April 24th the mall is hosting an Armed Forces Appreciation Day. We were invited to participate and will have a booth inside the mall with multiple lathes turning.

The Malls Management will be providing more information in the next few days and I will share any news as soon as I am made aware. We have been authorized to collect donations and of course to share information about the Freedom Pen Project with the public and any Military organizations that attend.

If we are frugal with our space I expect we could have 3 or 4 lathes running and one table. Anyone who would like to participate should contact me as soon as possible so that I can make arrangements. Each lathe should be placed inside a plywood frame with a clear plexiglass front viewing area to protect the public and contain as much of the dust and chips as possible. Each lathe operator should provide their own lathe, tools, sandpaper, glue, finishing supplies and pen blanks. I will provide the pen kits for the event.

I sincerly hope that this is just the first of many local demonstrations we will be able to schedule at shopping malls, festivals and fairs thoughout our local area.

Sounds like a great opportunity and a lot of fun. I wish I could be there to help. Dave
