4.5" round waterproof electrical box?

I bought a motion activated light. When I went to install it, I found my old box was rectangular. I thought about moving the two lights and sensor from the new cover to the old cover, but they might be crowded in. So I bought a round box, only to get it home and find it was 4", while the new cover is 4.5".

I can't find a 4.5" box. Do they exist? If not, I guess I will be sending the light back. Oh well.

Do the holes line up? A 4.5" cover would go past the box by 1/4" which is a good thing for outside boxes. If you go to the box store you should be able to fine one that works.

It looks to me like your standard slotted mounting bracket to the junction box. I would be surprised if it didn't mount to a 4" round box.

Whether it's a rectangular box or an octagonal one makes no difference. The mounting bracket is supposed to give you the flexibility to mount the fixture on different types of boxes. The oversized canopy of the fixture is there for flush mounted applications. If the box you are mounting the fixture to a surface mounted box, the overhang of the canopy is unavoidable. There is no 4.5" octagonal box made that I have ever seen.

There are fixtures that are designed for surface mounted Bell boxes:

It gives you weatherproofing and a cleaner look. If the box is surface mounted, you can replace it with a WP Bell box. They make 4" round Bell boxes for just that purpose. Make sure you have enough plugs, too.
