  1. I read your problem with some interest, I've dealt with the same one. I use a fine diamond hone on the side that 'pulls' on my Tenon saw (20 tpi).

    I hone from the outside of the set, toward the middle of the plate to smooth off any burr I may leave when sharpening.

    I also make parallel lines for ripping, so I can 'steer'.

    EZE lap makes the little flat hones I use.
    They seem to last.
