David, not sure if I ever answered you...maybe in a PM? Anyway, I put a Baldor motor (IIRC) on my PM90. I got it used from my local motor place. It was 3 phase, so I had to add a VFD (TECO FM50). Yes, the PM90 is quite a stout machine that can certainly handle it. As for advice, naw...not that I can think of. I guess just make sure you get the right plate on your motor so it can mount to the lathe properly.
Mike, copying you powermatic 90 refurb/upgrade Amy advice in moving up to two hp motor? Was machine able to handle and can you tell me which motor you purchased? Couldn't find a post on that. Thanks for the help.
