Ben, The Shop fox rear rail is just for support for the extension table if you have one. However, it is very robust so you can clamp the back of the fence down to it if you want. The fence relies on the front box section for squareness and clamping. The back of it rides on a teflon pad on the surface of the table. Regards, Josiah
Josiah, I saw your review on the shop fox table saw fence and was wondering about the back rail. Is that just a support/glide rail or what? All of the locking happens on the front rail, right?
