Thanks for the information. I have never tried that, but have learned a lot from reading this post.
It could be the blade. I bought one at a big box store and it sawed crooked like yours. I bought one from Ellis and it sawed straight.
A short time ago I asked a question about mounting band saw tires on a 21" wheel. I got some good answers here and thought I would let you know what I found out.
Sulphur Grove Tool will custom...
Sulpher Grove can make any size. They are making mine.
I don't blame you for being confused. I just watched the three videos, and they aren't the same ones I watched yesterday.
Go to u-tube and type in Band Saw Tire Installation Jig ...
I can't hardly believe it. I followed the third u-tube video that Greg Belleman suggested. It was put out by the Sulphur Grove shop. I didn't use the tires from Grizzly, I still don't think they...
Thanks to everyone for your help. Guy, thanks so much for the videos. I really like how the Sulpher Grove demonstrator did it. I still think the tires I have been sent are too small. The ones I...
Sorry about the double posts. I tried to find the first post to add a picture, and couldn't find it, so I made a second post. The tires I ordered were suppost to be for a 21" rim. Thanks for all the...
I have ordered tires from two places for my 21" band saw. The tires appear to be too small. Even after soaking in hot water, they would not go on. I broke both trying to stretch them on the 21"...
Here is a picture of the tire I got from Grizzly, It has no stretch to it. I soaked it in very hot water, still no stretch to it. I broke one trying to put it on.
I just checked with the Carter Co. and they said they did not make tires for a 21" wheel.
Thanks for the help, I will check on the Carter company. Here is a picture of the tire and the wheel. Doesn't it seem like the tire is too small?
I have a 21" band saw I use to cut wood for my wood lathe. I need to replace the tires on the 21" wheels. I have bought 21" tires from two different places and they are way, way too small. I know...
Thanks for the help!
A friend of mine has an old 12" delta wood lathe. The tailstock may need to be replaced. Will any of the 12" delta tail stocks work? I'm not sure this lathe still has the model number.
Thanks for the information.
I have seen a Robert Sorby RS3 wood lathe for sale. Does anyone have any experience with one?
Any information will be appreciated.
I recently rough turned some bowls out of cottonwood, put anchorseal on them and put them out in my pump house. A couple of weeks later I looked at them and they were covered with mold. I sprayed...
I bought a can of Mylands Cellulose Sanding Sealer, but there are no directions for use on the can.
Do you wait till the sanding sealer drys before sanding, or do you sand while it is still...
I had the same question about some cedar I was turning. Someone recomended no finish, just the Beal Bowl Buffing system. That's what I now use and am very satisfied with the results.
I got my wheels at a flea market. I would recomend a four wheel set up. That way you can use a laser if you want to.
Very nice, the brass ring looks great!
Beautiful!! do you use the Beal buffing system?
This is a alabaster turning I made some years ago. It is 5" tall.
I have turned alabaster. The only problem I had was the incredible amount of dust. I won't turn it again untill I have a lathe outside.
I made lathe tools out of files so it wouldn't dull my...
