Would love to hear someone's experience with these as well. Seems like the perfect solution to me. I do mostly small projects so I'm constantly throwing out 1/2 full containers of gelled up finish.

So nobody else got the Dewalt DW788 scroll saw for $315 yesterday? Lightning deal was $340 and then there was an additional $25 off $100 Dewalt purchases. Best price EVER!!!
As mentioned by Bob, get an electronic stud finder (<$10)! Much better than poking tons of holes in your wall.
It's all about the quill travel. I have the older non-VS Steel City and I love it.
Mine just rests inside the base and I haven't had any problems.
Since the long dimension of the jointer base is pretty much exactly the same as one of the hole combinations I think I actually had...
Ditto there is absolutely nothing wrong with the JET - it's awesome.
They were shorts that had already been surfaced - I honestly just didn't notice the difference in thickness when I was picking them out. I guess I need to be more careful next time.
Okay - thanks for the responses guys. This brings me to my next question...
The real life issue is that I purchased several milled boards of various expensive exotics from my local lumber yard.
...
Let's say your local lumberyard charges $5.00/bf for 4/4 rough maple, and an additional $0.50/bf for milled pieces.
You pick out a milled board with actual dimensions 3/4"x6"x96".
What is the...
Nope it's direct tapped. I was offered it over the phone - Jim may be right though about it being a limited production run. That would explain why I've never seen anything about it in the Teknatool...

They have the SN2 with insert (or direct tap) and free 3" bowl jaws for $189 CAD right now. If I remember correctly the shipping was ~$10.
I had no idea it existed...
While I have never seen it available here in the states, I purchased my SN2 from a Canadian vendor and was able to get a version of the chuck that is tapped for 1 ¼ x 8. No runout! I had a small...
I would guess that you cranked down too hard on the tailstock wheel to hold your wood between the headstock and tailstock. This will increase the friction and therefore temperature of both.

YES! Thanks Shawn!
Edit* Aww nuts Mreza is right.
I think you might not have your guides set up right. With Carter guides, I don't think you should be getting any drift. I don't with mine, and I believe that it is one of their selling points in...
Don't forget Triton you guys - it's made for table use and I love mine.
Thanks everyone - Mike's cold-press method worked excellently on these relatively small pieces.
I am trying to veneer some nice 1/16" birdseye maple veneer to 1/4" plywood for a mitered box top.
I have used the titebond/iron method many times before with other woods with great results.

It is definitely still flammable, however the conditions have to be right for combustion to occur (air/fuel mix). DNA, or even something like diesel will be relatively difficult to ignite at ambient...
A dovetail bowl! That is too cool!
I just use the $3 orange 5 gallon buckets that Home Depot sells. They have a rubber o-ring in the lid so it makes an air-tight seal.
At the woodworking shows, they do 10% off and free shipping for orders placed at the show.
Took some inspiration from Kevin Groenke (who posted earlier in this thread) and completed some storage for my Jet 1642 last weekend.
The tool holders are 1.5" PVC pipe. I drilled through each...
You guys have me worried now - I don't want my house to get eaten up!
1. The log was on the ground for ~24 hrs after it was chopped down before I salvaged it. Is is possible that I'm only...
