Joe, very pretty bed. The headboard is AWESOME!
Phil,
I noted your post about bed-making. I've made several of these 4-poster beds from curly maple that are easy to assemble/disassemble, are GREAT fun to make, sit high enough to store material...
iPod too Proprietary?? It works with Mac and any PC and uses MP3 files. How more generic can it get?
Some of them use flash storage too...no moving parts.
I like the streaming idea--I buried...
One word... iPod.
Anyone know where to find a comprehensive listing of all of the past Finewoodworking magazines?
I looked on their site and could not find anything.
Thanks!
Mike,
Hear, hear....
I was just scrolling down to see if anyone mentioned bulb temperature. I SWEAR by my T8 Phillips Alto Natural Sunshine bulbs!
Not to be knit-picky, but actually 6500K is...
My little feller needs one of these. Thanks for the idea. I will have to try to move the early markings from the door-jamb over to it! :)
Frank,
Where do you live? I use 10% maple quite often. However, I am not in Arizona.
If you use proper building techniques (ones with movement in mind) you should be ok in most areas.
Be sure...
I respectfully disagree with some suggestions here...
Assuming the wood is kiln dried or air-dried to EMC:

I've battled and battled with finding a home for my BIG miter saw (Dewalt 12" sliding compound) and need to find a new solution. I have the dewalt stand for it, but it's really meant for carpenters...

I don't mean to hi-jack your thread,...
Didn't look like it was mentioned here before, but the Boggs round-bottom shave from Lie Nielsen is a gem! Not "cheap" but sure is nice.
Another GREAT source (I have some) are Dave's Shaves....
What would a chair like this retail for? I would think that one would have to get at least $4K or so for it.
Since a little Maloof table fetches $52,000 at auction, a chair must get $200,000+! ...
Just awesome!!
What kinda hours you have into it?
I have what I suspect is one of the few that ever made it out...a set of H&R's irons from the now defunct Shephard Tools. I intended to use them to make my own. I've since gotten a set of H&R's. If...
Ron,
I usually do age my cherry projects out in the sun for a while, but I was afraid it would catch fire in this WICKED heat! (102 today) ;D
Thanks for the kind words
Bruce,
I can help you out...I have some Qsawn white that I was gonna be posting for sale.
If you wish to pursue this, just PM me.
Thanks.
Everyone'll love this:
When I measured the TV, I didn't realize the base sticks out further than the rest. So, we're gonna cut the base of TV to fit the furniture! :D :D
Soon, we'll be making...
The first pic is fairly close to the real color. It will darken (tan) nicely as it ages. I look forward to seeing the results in 10 years! :D
Thanks for the kind words.
The back is simple shiplapped and beaded boards. Single hand-cut nails at the top and bottom with about 1/8 space between them to allow for movement.
The crown on the...
A recent project to keep my wife happy! :)
It's our TV's new home. Also two adjustable shelves (not in the photos) to keep the Satellite receiver, Playstation, DVD, etc.
It is all cherry with...
Due to the excessive heat this week. Be aware of brownouts and your tool usage. I just checked at I am running at 97 volts.
Low voltage will cause extra current draw. Any "on the edge"...
