Are you sure you bought the timber products plywood and not the tiger plywood? I think the tiger is stocked in store.
It says A1 grade.
From the Menard's video the veneer face is 1/36" which seems a little thinner than I'd expect. I'd be nice if they stocked it instead of having to special order it. Handle with care. ;)
I really enjoy his content and his teaching style. Was perfect for a beginning looking to learn.
Have you guys worked with Menard's Timber Products Plywood? They are advertising a 3/4" A1 Grade Pro-Core2 Cherry 4x8 sheet for $90. That's about $20 off my typical woodworking store and much...
If you're worried about the plywood showing add a edge band or veneer. I normally use 1/8" for front and back to make the calculation easy.
Thanks. I always wait to save a few bucks and buy when they have free shipping. Got some straight edges and the LA BP.
I'm building something a similar compartment seen in the "Router Magic" book. The plan says to build a baffle so the air flow get sucked to the bottom and a jumper hose for table top collection. It...
Merry Christmas to you, just got myself the same plane about a week ago. :)
John,
You could try the Hand Tool School. The classes are online so you can go at your own pace. I haven't taken any classes there but seems to be pretty good.

Thanks guys you saved me some money for now. =)
I spent a little time doing the scary sharp but quickly decided to go to water stones. I'm using the Veritas MKII guide for chisels and plane irons with occasional free hand sharpening. I try to...
After seeing everyone raving about the higher grade chisels I'm getting tired of my cheapy blue marples and want to invest in a few higher quality chisels. I'm leaning towards Japanese chisels and...
Well after getting into hand tools more and more and feel like investing some more money in a new water stone. Right now I have a combo generic japanese 800/4000 waterstone from Woodcraft and a...
Well I like my Incra, perhaps I just need to add a sacraficial fence and put sandpaper on it to give it a little friction.
Yeah it was perfect timing for this, I was eyeing that shoulder plane for a couple of weeks now and was waiting for free shipping. Now it would have been nice to get it at that price with free...
I was wondering why most aftermarket miter gauges don't come with a holddown clamp? It seems it would be safer and more accurate to be able to clamp it down like this:

I haven't used the scraper much but this video impressed me about sharpening card scrapers. After seeing this I will be using the scraper a lot more.

Hmm what's interesting is that I have a pretty workable power tool shop (table saw, band saw, planer, routers, drill press, jointer). From what I recall the router might be my most expensive item. ...
Well I had a chance to work on the Disston blade. I still need to work some rust off but seems to be coming off well. It appears one side has a significant amount of pitting but doubt it...
Picked these two saws up. I believe the Disston is a #8 (but handle looks different from what I've seen on websites) and the other is an Atkins No. A-2 Straight Back. Can anyone confirm that it is...
Do you have more photos and larger photos? I'd like to do something similar to that set-up. How did you attach it to the rear angle iron?
How about using one of those edge clamp guides and circular saw?
Miter saw with appropriate side supports?
If it cuts well I'd put a aux fence to square them up, shim it to get it square? Save some money.
