Cool! Will this be shown in the big buildings where all the Sham-wow people are? :)
If you have imported plywood, then this is expected. Did you buy it at Lowes or Home Depot or a similar store?
If the plywood is cabinet grade it shouldn't warp.
Rough cut it with a circular saw, then finish cut it on your table saw.
That Cherry / Maple work is gorgeous
Congratulations! I've been following the process from the get-go and it turned out great! It's very well lit and those windows are fantastic.
Foil backing is a great radiant barrier and the foam is great for r-value, covering both winter/summer needs. Foil tape works great and lasts forever if applied over a clean surface.
You are doing it right - being a good neighbor and nice person, and taking care of what is important to you, your precious tools. I try do the same, but probably not as well as you do.:D
Bravo!
sounds like the outfeed table is at the wrong height.
Very nice! What finish did you use?
I can't wait to see the cabinet underneath, even if it might be a while. :)
Plunge rout with a template on one side. Drill a hole all the way through. Then use a flush trim bit w/ a bearing on the bottom from the other side, starting in the hole you just drilled.
I like my Craftsman. It's made by Ryobi. After all the sales, discounts, and gift cards I had it was under $30:D It does everything I need for gluing up panels. I haven't done any face frames or...
Nwwood in Puyallup is also a good place to go. Decent prices and selection. I'll have to check out Crosscut. I hear good things about them but never seem to make it that far north.
I've never...
Amazing. I'd never leave the shop, ever.
Covering the wood with clear plastic in the sun will get it extremely hot. If it's 100 degrees outside, you can probably get 140 or more under the plastic. It's just a little greenhouse :p
Very inspiring. What type of finish is that?
Those insulation blowers have a hopper and a 100' hose. It's a 2 person operation - one guy in the garage feeding the hopper and the 2nd in the attic directing the flow.
I'd hire a pro to do...
elbow grease :)
I can get one of these for $219 - the 10" version. But is it going to be good enough to make furniture?
I can pick it up easily and I'm worried it is not going to be stable. Also, the fence...
Don't forget to wear safety glasses too. Strange things can happen when a little brad goes into hardwood, especially anything on an angle or edge.
It's used on guitars and it holds up very well.
You could clamp a straight edge on the MDF layers, cut it with the circular saw, attach the oak top and do the same, then sand out any blade marks.
Quicker and cheaper.
I'm reading it right now. Got it from the library. It's very informative for me, but I don't know anything at all about jointers and planers!!
Most of this information is available on the web. ...
The kitchen stuff is really nice for a non-custom cabinet, better than most of the HD or Lowes stuff. The best part is the hardware - everything is Blum and Blumotion. Due to the huge volumes they...
